Help Save the Rainforest

Picture
Two hundred years ago the Rainforest covered eight million sq. miles of the worlds surface (1/5 of Earth’s surface). More than half of this forest has been burned, bulldozed, or cut down. Now only 3.4 million sq. miles remain. Every second of every day 2.47 acres are cut down (about the size of two football fields). It is believed that more than one hundred animals and plants become extinct each week.   Tragically, rainforests once covered 14% of the earth's land surface; now they cover a mere 6%. In less than 50 years, more than half of the world's tropical rainforests have fallen victim to fire and the chain saw and the rate of destruction is still accelerating. Unbelievably, over 200,000 acres of Rainforest are burned every day in the world. That is over 150 acres lost every minute of every day.     Experts estimate that at the current rate of destruction, the last remaining rainforests could be consumed in less than 40 years.

Experts also estimate that we are losing 130 species of plants, animals and insects every single day as they become extinct from the loss of Rainforest land and habitats
How many cures to diseases have we already lost?

Help Save the rainforest!!!

Help a brighter generations team help save the rainforest by giving a donation to help us buy Acres. Or come to our fundraisers.

It costs 100 dollars for one acre of the rainforest seems like a lot but a little from everyone will go a long way. Thanks
